Ratios are an important factor when looking for quality child care. When interviewing the provider ask them about their provider/child ratio. The following ratios were created by the Office of Licensing.
In Family Child Care the maximum number of infants that can be cared for at any time, unless a second caregiver is present: 3 children below 1 year.
The maximum number of toddlers that can be cared for at any time, unless a second caregiver is present: 4 children below 2 years, and no more than 2 children shall be younger than 1 year.
